The Wans picked up their name from Simon’s hometown in Ireland. Simon explains it as an “everyday slang term in Derry, Northern Ireland.” He goes on to say, “It’s pretty much the Irish phonetic spelling of ‘The Ones’, but the way it’s spelled is the way it’s pronounced in an Irish accent. So everyone has to pronounce it that way. I find it funny listening to Americans speaking with an Irish accent. I may be the only one who finds it funny, but what the hell! All that matters to us is that the songs are solid and the music is rocking.”
The Wans are currently recording their first full length with, Dave Cobb (Shooter Jennings, Waylon Jennings, Jason Isbell, Rival Sons). Fans, Blogs & Magazines are anxiously awaiting this full length from the dubbed “Next big thing!” band, The Wans.
